Transient Glory, the Young People's Chorus of New York City's groundbreaking, 21st-century commissioning series of choral music for young people, presented Composer Spotlight on Missy Mazzoli  in the Kaufman Hall at the92nd Street Y. Conducted and Music Directed by YPC Artistic Director and Founder Francisco J. Núñez, the evening encompassed an entire evening of Mazzoli's acclaimed vocal works interpreted, set, and adapted for the first time for an ensemble of fifty young women from the YPC chorus, and Victoire, Mazzoli's genre-spanning band. The various musical material was contextualized within a theatrical staging that knit together and guided a journey through the various works.

During the rehearsal period leading to the concert, DeChiazza held extra rehearsals with a select group of six singers (ages 14-18). These young singers learned to work together to generate movement and staging, and to assimilate a performance aesthetic for the work. They then assisted DeChiazza in sharing this material within the 50-member chorus during full rehearsals.
